PS5 - Blue and Gray

A console, rebuilt as an object

Blue side panels swapped onto the gray base, with a window mod cut into the right cover and covered in clear acrylic. The PS5 keeps its iconic silhouette — the panels are Sony's own swappable design, just rebuilt in StudioFR colors and opened on one side to show the heatsink and the original ○△✕□ symbols cast inside the chassis. Internal hardware untouched.

The build, step by step

• Custom side panels. The original Sony swappable covers refinished in deep blue and gray, wet-sanded between coats and sealed under an acrylic clear coat for depth and chip resistance.
• Window mod. One side panel cut open and covered with a sheet of premium clear acrylic, cut on a CO2 laser. The heatsink and the iconic ○△✕□ symbols cast into the inside of the chassis become visible from outside — not stickers, not prints.
• DualSense controller. Fully stripped, cleaned, and color-matched to the build.
• RGB lighting. Multi-color LED array behind the acrylic window, controlled from a phone app. Pick the color, dial in the brightness, set the speed.
• Internal hardware preserved. No motherboard work, no thermal repaste, no firmware changes — only the swappable side panels are modified. Sony's warranty paths remain intact.
• Reassembly under spec. Panels seated, aligned, and tested before the build leaves the bench.

Finish quality

Studio-grade. Wet-sanded between coats, finished with an acrylic clear coat for depth and protection. The acrylic window is cut on a CO2 laser — geometry impossible to achieve by hand.
